To celebrate Earth Month, we're highlighting some of our favorite humans and the ways in which they live a sustainable lifestyle. Chelsea Yamase is a model, activist, and yoga teacher. She's also a dear supporter of AKUA's mission. Chelsea promotes wellness + sustainability to her community in a fresh and exciting way through immersive content creation.
1. What's one change you've made in your life this past year to be a better Earthling?
Going plant-based! I had already started traveling a lot less, but I wanted to make that additional step to have a lower carbon footprint.
2. When you close your eyes and picture the world another 50 years from now, what do you see?
I picture sophisticated minimalism where we're doing more with less. I picture innovative systems in place to reduce waste in our food systems. I picture a thriving circular economy. And I picture me going out for a swim at my favorite beach across healthy coral reefs.
3. How are you staying sane + grounded during COVID-19?
Acroyoga (lucky to have a quarantine partner!), learning tons of new recipes by heart, and riding my bike to a river a few miles away. I have never been more grateful for cold, quick swims.
