Bike the Shoreline is an annual fundraising event that takes place in May each year, in which a group of amazing humans cover 200 miles of the Atlantic coastline over 3 days while raising funds for an ocean related non-profit or charity.
On May 11th 2017, twelve participants set off on an adventure of a lifetime to raise funds for the nonprofit GreenWave, to support a new generation of sustainable ocean farmers and innovators working to restore ecosystems, mitigate climate change, and build a blue-green economy.
2017's epic bike ride began on Thursday morning on May 11th in New Haven and ended with a celebration Saturday afternoon the 13th in Woods Hole, Cape Cod. Along the way, we stopped at different restorative ocean farms for oysters, seaweed delicacies, and a naughty glass or two of rose at the end of the day!
We envision a day when there are thousands of restorative ocean farms on coasts around the world contributing food, fertilizers, energy and much more to local economies, while saving our oceans – and ourselves. Support us at the link below!
